There is goodness in this world

Last night, at Central Hall, Westminster, the Voluntary Service Overseas held its annual carol service in front of a packed audience.

In between some memorable musical contributions several VSO volunteers told their stories. The Irish lady, once a housewife, but who was persuaded to join the VSO, told of her battle to build a pre-natal clinic in central Africa – and the lives already saved.

A theme emerged. Perhaps 2016 has been a pretty desperate and materialistic year. But out there the VSO, and its courageous volunteers, show that seeds of hope can be sown.

The picture shows Judy and Tony mixing with the VSO volunteers, pre-concert. They were guests of Robin Stevens, a VSO trustee and senior partner at Crowe Clark Whitehill LLP.20161208_184727
